January 26, 2014
Shandra Simo - GR student , Reinbeck Courier

GR's booster club is selling yellow T-shirts that say "Rebels Bear Cancer." The student council is selling shutter shades (fun yellow sunglasses), yellow braided bracelets, yellow cancer ribbon stickers for and basketballs for the bulletin board.

People can write a name in honor of or in memory of a person on the basketball. These will be displayed on a bulletin board outside the gym. GR's student council will also sell these items at the basketball game on Friday, the 24th. EVERYONE is encouraged to attend the basketball game in yellow.

GR student body will be raising awareness of different types of cancer with activities throughout the week. Every day students will be wearing a color for a certain type of cancer.

Monday will be purple, which stands for pancreatic cancer. Tuesday will be black, which is melanoma cancer. Wednesday is dark blue, and that stands for colon cancer. Thursday is pink, which stands for breast cancer and Friday is yellow, standing for children cancer.

Other activities will be held throughout the week. All proceeds made from the T-shirts, bracelets, glasses, stickers and memorials will be split between the American Cancer Society and Noah Ohrt and his family!
