On January 9, 2014 the young Rebels traveled to Toledo, Iowa, to take on the Trojans of South Tama for the first time.
The first quarter was not a very good one as the Rebels turned the ball over early enabling the Trojans to take an early 14-2 lead. Second quarter play saw the Rebels pick up the pace by hitting from the outside with a couple of three pointers and out scoring the Trojans 8-7. The halftime score stood at 21-10 in favor of the Trojans.
After half-time discussion, the Rebels came out and played aggressive and enthusiastic basketball while working on the fundamentals. Still trailing at the start of the fourth quarter it was all or nothing for the Rebels. We employed our pressure defense which led to some less difficult scores and whittled the defeat to six points only to find the clock expiring. The horn sounded with a 37-29 loss for the continually improving rebels.
Those finding the scoring column were the following:
*Kaleb Hendricks - 4 points
*Colton Clark - 5 points
*Tyson Creswell - 9 points
*Jordan Hall - 2 points
*Jackson Kliboris - 0 points
