John Buskohl will celebrate his 80th birthday with a card shower. He was born Nov. 20, 1923.

Marlene Harris, 85, died Nov. 24 at the Long Term Care Unit at the Grundy Hospital.

Michael Virelli began his duties at the Hand Funeral Home on Nov. 1.

Mary May, 80, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Nov. 19 at Parkview Manor.

Margaret Dinsdale, 82, Traer, died Nov. 18 in Greenville, N.C.

Robert Lewis, 77, Lincoln, died Nov. 18 at his home in Lincoln.

Ruth Middlekoff, 89, Dike died Nov. 15 at the Grundy Care Center, Grundy Center.

Anna Siemsen, 93, Grundy Center, died Nov. 19 at the Grundy Co. Hospital.

NOV. 1983

Mr. & Mrs. Joe Dostal of Traer were both killed in a car/semi accident on Nov. 22 in Vincennes, Ind. on their way to Texas to visit their son.

First major winter storm strikes area. Many area farms were without power as long as 12-20 hours.

Burge Larsen suffered a broken hip from a fall at Schoitz Medical Center. He underwent surgery the next day.

Floyd Freese, 51, Dike, died Nov. 27 after suffering a stroke.

John Vickery, 75, Gladbrook, died Nov. 18.

Arnold Eggers, 85, Gladbrook, died Nov. 24.

Martha Engelkes, 89, Grundy Center, died Nov. 21 of an apparent heart attack.

Mr. & Mrs. Dennis Bern are parents of a son born Nov. 29.

Mr. & Mrs. Richard Coles are parents of triplett daughters born Nov. 24. Rick was the head football coach.

Mrs. Kendall Buskohl, Reinbeck, won $100 at the weekly bankroll at Ernie's Super Valu.

George Dew will hold a complete closing out sale on Dec. 11.

Jim Ehlers, 21, son of Mr. & Mrs. Bob Ehlers was accidentally shot in back of his leg while hunting near Sioux City.

Jeannie Engle, 79, Dike, died Nov. 29 at a Cedar Falls Nursing Home.

Mr. & Mrs. Arlyn Beinfang, LaPorte City, are parents of a son born Nov. 30.

Jane Webrand & Gary Frahm were married Nov. 30 at the Reinbeck Presbyterian Church.

Duane V. Clow, 59, Gladbrook, died at his home on Dec. 1.

Gus Ehrig received his 50 year Masonic Certificate at a special ceremony.

DEC. 5, 1963

G.R. Speers of Iowa Dept. of Public Safety presented a "Letter of Merit" to Larry Stirler as "Teenage Driver of the Month" sponsored by the Reinbeck Lions Club.

Charles Willer 36, formerly of Reinbeck, received a severe brain concussion when a utility pole fell on him near Vinton. He is employed by Iowa Electric Light & Power.

Dr. John Jacquis announced he is leaving Reinbeck and will join four other physicians in Cedar Falls.

Shirley Kos, Clutier, and Dean A. Robinson were married on Nov. 20.

Glenda Didio & Victor Devick were married Nov. 30 at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Reinbeck.

Mr. & Mrs. Don Thede of Cedar Falls are parents of a daughter born Nov. 22.

Joan Horstmann and Charles Gage were married on Nov. 30 at the United Church of Christ in Reinbeck.

60 YEARS AGO

NOV. 1953

Following a story of an old coin show in Morrison, Gene Bryant came up with some pennies he's had for 75 years. He found them in vacant lot in his home state of Vermont. The pennies are large and thick dated 1802, 1803 and 1827.

Mr. & Mrs. Peter Storjohann will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 16.

Mr. & Mrs. John Ehrig to observe their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 15.

70 YEARS AGO

Harold Robertson passing a war prisoner truck, crashed into a car parked on the wrong side of the road.

Neil Ashby, 77, publisher of the Wellsburg Herald died Dec. 8.

James Karkosh slipped and fell down a hay chute and received a compression fracture.
