My name is Tim Johnson, and I am running for a second term on the Reinbeck City Council. I have lived in Reinbeck for 16 years, and I have been a member of the Reinbeck Fire Department for 15 years. My wife, Joanie (Ehlers), and I operate a property management business from home. One can also find me once a week on the back of the Cooley Sanitation garbage truck cleaning up the town.
In the past four years, I have been a part of some changes in the Reinbeck city government. The most recent change is that of our City Administrator. I played a key role in dismissing the previous one, and then interviewing and hiring the new administrator, Eric Weinkoetz. I look forward to working with Eric to repair and improve city functions and relations. We have many ongoing projects (street replacement, the new housing development, the Parkview expansion, the memorial building remodeling, downtown street lights, etc.) that have been started in my first term, and I would like to see them through into a second term. I believe this continuity is important for the community of Reinbeck. My previous experience as a councilman will help with the completion of these and other projects.
I will continue to be assertive in investigating city issues and citizen concerns.
