Melissa Small & Chad Blessinger were married on August 2 in Ireland, Ind.

Mr. & Mrs. David Hite will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on Sept. 14.

Ethel Eslinger, 83, Reinbeck, passed away on Sept. 3 at her home.

Melva J. Cameron, 79, Boone, died Sept. 5 at the Boone Co. Hospital.

Annual Pioneer Craft Fair will be held on Sept. 14 in Morrison.

Mike Vogt elected to serve with State Historical Society Board of Trustees for three years.

Joyce Block & Tracy Crocker were married Sept. 3 at the United Church of Christ in Reinbeck.

State Senator Vernon Kyle, 65, Parkersburg, died Sept. 17 at the Grundy Co. Memorial Hospital of cancer and other complications.

Henry Rust, 86, died Sept. 5 at Allen Hospital.

Harold Brown, 79, died Sept. 14 in a physicians office of a heart attack.

Lynette Eiffler and Duane Leeper exchanged vows on Sept. 15.

Harold Street, 62, Gladbrook, died Sept. 13.

Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Tomlinson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 23 with an open house.

Bert Saltou, Reinbeck's self trained geologist found a perfect tooth from an ancient woolly mammoth. According to the experts it is about 10,000 years old.

Peter Jargstorf, 90, died Sept. 12.

Annual Pioneer Corn harvest began this week in the Reinbeck area.

Everett Wyatt was elected Chairman of Reinbeck School Board.

David Roberts, 54, died Sept. 12 of injuries received in a 2-car crash which occurred 1/2 mile south of Amity Church.

Mr. & Mrs. Gene Graveman are parents of a son born Sept. 12.

Dr. & Mrs. Lynn Frink, formerly of Reinbeck, are parents of a daughter born Sept. 1.

Doris DeWolf & David Hite were married on Sept. 14 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Reinbeck.

Jean Pembrook to be installed as Worthy Advisor in Order of Rainbow for Girls on Sept. 20.

James E. Slessor, 74, died Sept. 11.

Mrs. Emil Wrage, 53, died Sept. 15.

Betty Saltou, Grundy Center and Richard Ohrt, Reinbeck, each won $25 at Reinbeck Super Day drawing.

Mr. & Mrs. Dale Larsen are parents of a son born Sept. 14.

Priscilla Boren & James Frier were married Sept. 14.

Marcella Klodt was seriously injured in a mysterious accident near the Russell Dunn farm east of Reinbeck.

70 YEARS AGO

SEPT. 1943

Alfred Cheeseman has been promoted to Pilot on Squad 54, stationed in Santa Ana, Calif.

400 students are enrolled at Reinbeck School this year.

Mr. & Mrs. Louis Staker are parents of a daughter born Sept. 12.

Leron Stone, a baker in the Army, gets 2-3 day pass to allow him to dig his potatoes which amounted to 4 bushels.
