West Nile Virus claims another Iowan.

Mr. & Mrs. Rob Nelson are parents of a son born August 16.

James L. "Jim" Bouska died Sept. 2 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

Class of 1937 held their 66th class reunion.

Class of 1946 held their 57th class reunion.


SEPT. 2, 1993

Former Police Chief of Reinbeck, Dennis Keeler, was put on probation and ordered to repay $289 in funds which he allegedly kept after endorsing an employee check and deposited it in his own account.

A semi tractor driven by Ricky Ray Rieck, loaded with soybean meal, dropped off the blacktop on Hwy #175 E. at the Richter Farm site and rolled in the ditch. No injuries reported.

Bernice Wulf celebrated her 80th birthday on Sept. 5 with an open house at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Hudson.

Elmer DeBerg, Grundy Center, passed away on August 30.

Ada McLeod, 90, Grundy Center, died August 28.

Mr & Mrs Randy Eckhoff are parents of a daughter born August 23.

Wes Beenken gets a hole in one at the Dysart Golf Course on August 21.

Class of 1933 holds 60th class reunion

Class of 1940 holds 53rd class reunion on August 28.


SEPT. 8 1983

Rebecca Strohbehn & Kevin McKee were married on August 13.

Lutjen Beenken, 73, formerly of Stout and Holland, died August 30.

Mr. & Mrs. Marvin Ahrenholz of Reinbeck, will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on Sept. 8.

Annual Pioneer Craft Days to be held Sept. 11 at the Grundy County Museum.


SEPT. 13, 1973

Mr. & Mrs. Jerry DeVries of Beaman, have purchased the home of Vern Schoonover on East Grundy Ave.

Mr. & Mrs. Geoffrey Moser bought a lot on Pioneer Road from Roger DeWolf and Carl Bern.

Amelia Lauterbach died of a stroke at Allen Hospital on Sept. 12.

Janet Lynch & Thomas Freed were married August 26 at the United Methodist Church in Grundy Center.

Thomas Straack, Grundy Center Attorney, plead guilty to two counts of income tax evasion.

Mr. & Mrs. Mike Lovell are parents of a son born Sept. 5.

Mr. & Mrs. Edward Philp are parents of a daughter born Sept. 12.

Mr. & Mrs. Paul Roberts are parents of a daughter born Sept. 4.


SEPT. 1963

Sager & Frei were top vote getters in the school board election. Ken Bicket was re-elected treasurer.

John Stein's Cafe will move on October 1 to the Koht Building.

Harry Turner of Waterloo is asking $50,000 judgement from Belmont Stock Farm for alleged injuries received on Set. 7, 1961.

Mergen Hunsaker of Lake View, Ore. and Daniel Robertson were married August 31.


SEPT. 1953

Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth Moye sold their new home to Gus Treimer for $11,500.

Roger Schelling won the Labor Day Rodeo. He also won $90 in prizes.

Enrollment at Reinbeck School totaled 642.

Ralph Utterbach, Cedar Rapids, replaced Kenneth Moye as office manager at Iowa Electric Light & Power office in Reinbeck.


SEPT. 1943

Kenneth J. Schmidt has been commissioned a second Lieutenant in the Army.

Aviation Cadet Elmer Dudolski received his silver wings and 2nd Lietu-tenant Commission.

Henry Wieben, 48, died Sept. 7 after a long illness.

Mr. & Mrs. Homer Miller are parents of a daughter born Sept. 7.

Mr. & Mr. Robert Cooper are parents of a daughter born Sept. 2.

Estelle Sandback was united in marriage to James Goodnight on Sept. 9.
