The Black Hawk Nighthawks 4-H Club held a couple activities in the month of June.
The club met in the elementary parking lot at 8:00 a.m. on June 21st and car pooled to Adventureland. It was a full day of fun for everyone who could join us, even though it did rain a little while we were there.
On June 11th, we met at Malissa's house to continue preparing our Share the Fun skit ("Alien 4-H Fair") for the fair. On June 29th, the club met at Malissa's house at 9:00 a.m. to finish our preparation for our Share the Fun skit. At 10:00 a.m., we went to Parkview Manor. Emma played a few songs on the piano and the club performed our "Alien 4-H Fair" skit for the Parkview residents. After our skit, we shared treats and drinks with the residents. Some of our 4-H members brought their pets to share some time with the residents. Sarah Schildroth told the residents about her cat, Audrey Leyen and Ashley Moore told the residents about their dogs. Then everyone had the chance to pet the animals.

Our most recent event of the summer was the Grundy County Fair July 22nd July 27th. The weather was great for the fair week, which began with the club assisting with clean-up of the fairgrounds on Saturday, July 20th. On Monday, many club members had projects judged for the non-livestock exhibit building and we also performed our Share the Fun "Alien 4-H Fair" skit. The rest of fair week included animal shows and a lot of other fun activities. We ended with another round of fairgrounds clean-up and picking up projects & animals on Saturday, July 27th. We will once again be displaying a few of our projects in the Reinbeck Public Library display case during the month of October.
We're taking the month of August off and will kick-off the next year with a meeting tentatively scheduled for Sunday, September 8th.
