Iowa State University Extension's Grundy County office is hosting a farmland leasing workshop August 6, 2013 from 7:00 p.m. 9:30 p.m.
The meeting will be held at the Grundy Center Community Center in Grundy Center, Iowa.
Attendees will learn about current land values and cash rental rates. The program will also discuss factors driving next year's rents such as grain prices and input costs. They will also hear why and how much land values have increased and potential factors leading to a land bubble. The potential impacts of the 2013 "Farm Bill" will also be discussed along with the upcoming changes in the CSR ratings. These changes will impact property taxes and land values. The impact of farmers taking the Prevented Planting option due to weather conditions will also be discussed. A 100 page handbook is included with the registration.
"With the volatile grain markets and increasing input costs you'll want to attend this meeting to stay up to date on what is happening," says Kelvin Leibold, ISUE Farm and Ag Business Management Specialist.
There is a registration fee. Late registration is payable at the door. Pre-register by calling the Grundy County Extension Office at 319-824-6979. Any additional questions may be directed Shari at the Grundy County Extension Office, firstname.lastname@example.org.
