You are invited to the Grundy County Area Parkinson's Support Group on June 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church at 439 Church St., at the west edge of Dike. This program is not just for people with Parkinson's Disease. Read on to see there's something for everyone.
Gary Johnson, a Behavioral Health Consultant with the Iowa Program for Assistive Technology, will be the guest speaker. He comes to us with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin and Masters degree in Vocational Rehabilitation from Drake University.
Gary will present information and show familiar equipment, and he will introduce a bunch of new daily-living aids. We will see how technology can be tailored to work for individuals.
We will learn about the special gadgets and gizmos that make tasks easier. Gary will show us some "magic" he can do on an iPad that is very applicable for persons with physical impairments.
Also, Gary will discuss the Loan Closet, financial support and tours of the Assistive Technology Center. Come have a great time learning about the aids that are available. Find out what can work for you or someone you know.
