Join us for the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day on Thursday, June 6th from 9 a.m. 3 p.m. at the Grundy County Fairgrounds. Come learn about a variety of safety topics. Monsanto will be presenting an animal safety puppet show and chemical safety to kick off the morning. Learn more about tractor & semi visibility, germs, sun safety, first aid & CPR, fire safety and so much more. REC will share their electrical safety demonstration, and Annmarie from Pathways will put on a puppet show in the afternoon. We will end the day with the local police department. It's a lot of fun in a safe environment. Plus you get a free T-shirt and a goodie bag to take home filled with lots of safety items for you to enjoy!
On Tuesday, June 11th from 9 a.m. 3 p.m. at the Grundy County Fairground kindergartners and first graders are invited to participate in Butterfly Bonanza. Explore the many stages of the butterflies life-cycle. From a tiny egg, to a larva, or caterpillar, to a pupa or chrysalis and finally a beautiful butterfly. You will learn how to crawl like a caterpillar, finger paint butterfly cards and make a tasty butterfly snack. Bring your friends!
Everything But the Kitchen Sink day camp will be held Tuesday, June 18th from 9 a.m. 3 p.m. at the Grundy County Fairgrounds. Second and third graders are invited to learn more about chromatography which means color writing. Check out those kitchen smells and tastes and learn a little about healthy foods and seed identification. This and much more is what you will get to explore when attending this camp.
There is a fee and the fees are used to off-set direct expenses and to support the 4-H Youth Development County program. Please bring a sack lunch and drink. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
