Together 4 families requests proposals

May 26, 2013
Reinbeck Courier

Together 4 Families is a community planning group that focuses on serving families with children ages 0-18 in Bremer, Butler, Franklin and Grundy County. The collaborative combines several statewide initiatives, including Early Childhood Iowa, Decategorization and the Community Partnership for Protecting Children. Each fiscal year there is some funding available through each of those initiatives to help serve families and children in the area. There are some primary issues that seem to have a significant impact on many families and children. Those issues have been identified as mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence and poverty. Additional planning and training opportunities to address those issues of concern will occur throughout the upcoming fiscal year. In addition to ongoing planning and training opportunities, proposals should include information on how those issues will be addressed through the services that will be funded.

Together 4 Families is seeking proposals that are specific to the funding that is available and the type of services that have been determined to be the most effective. Funding is available to help provide children with the best possible start in life they can have; to prevent families and children from entering the child welfare or juvenile court system; or to help families and children work their way out of their systems and increase their safety and stability as soon as possible.

In order to be considered for funding that is available, interested applicants must submit a completed proposal to Together 4 Families by June 1, 2013. The proposal format is currently available on the Together 4 Families Website at . You can also receive a copy of the proposal format by contacting Shawna Lebeck at Together 4 Families, 319-267-2594 or Please note that Together 4 Families is not able to contract with individuals. Applicants must have a federal tax id number and a DUNS number in order to apply. If you have any questions regarding the planning process, training opportunities, or the upcoming proposal and funding process, feel free to contact Shawna.
