USPS letter carriers food drive success!

The 2013 USPS letter carriers food drive was a huge success this year. Numerous residents who set out food and non-perishable items by their mail boxes last Saturday. The Black Hawk Nighthawk 4-H Club members helped pick up your donations. All items collected were donated to the Reinbeck food pantry. The letter carriers food drive brings in the largest amount of items at one single time to the Reinbeck food pantry. They collected approximately 826 pounds of items.

Evelyn helped put the food away on the shelves and Ty helped weigh everything as it came in. This would not be possible without the help of volunteers.

The food pantry is located in the basement of the Union United Church of Christ located at 225 Broad Street in Reinbeck. It is open during business hours. Call 788-6434 if you have any questions.
