May 12, 2013
Reinbeck Courier

Jay Beichley, son of Randy and Susan Beichley of Gladbrook, received the Elementary Education Student of the Year award at North Central University's Academic Awards Chapel on April 23.

Beichley received the award from Sharon Connor, who represented the education department. She shared comments from his supervisors and peers, noting that, "He has an evident enthusiasm for the field of teaching, but even more so for people," with attributes of being steady, hard-working, encouraging, engaging, and insightful.

Recognition from the education department is given to one elementary education student and one secondary education student each year. This year marks the first time that both outstanding students are men.
