The Grundy County Memorial Hospital (GCMH) thanked more than 70 community members for their volunteer service to the hospital at a Luncheon this past Tuesday, during National Volunteer Week.
More than 100 volunteers share their time, talents, and dedication through various opportunities at GCMH. Volunteers serve at the GCMH Welcome Desks and greet all who enter the hospital, escort patients and visitors, and deliver mail. Volunteers assist the Long Term Care Activity Department with daily programs and events including crafts, bingo, wheelchair square dancing, worship service, and Bible study. Volunteers also help run the East J Caf, assist in Physical Therapy, fill the hospital's vending machines, and provide residents and employees with popcorn every Friday.
Many volunteers give of their time and talents to be part of the Hospital Board of Commissioners or the GCMH Foundation Board. Numerous hospital committees and fundraising events are also run by volunteers. Volunteers come from all over the hospital's four-county market area, representing Conrad, Dike, Eldora, Gladbrook, Grundy Center, Holland, Parkersburg, Reinbeck, Steamboat Rock, and Wellsburg.
GCMH volunteers Mabel Bockes and Mary Lynch assist a hospital visitor.
Whatever the task or project, the hospital's exceptional volunteers handle it with style, grace, and a smile. Volunteers contribute every day to GCMH's vision: Best Outcome Every Patient Every Time.
