GRUNDY CENTER Grundy County Memorial Hospital (GCMH) will be hosting a free CEH and CEU program for EMS personnel, Acute Care Nurses and Emergency Department Nurses titled "Airway Management" on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the GCMH Education Room (enter at Door #3 on the west side of the hospital). J. Craig Vana, MSN, CRNA, ARNP, will be the presenter. The purpose of the program is to educate the principals of airway assessment, describe techniques in the management of difficult airways and recognize when to involve anesthesia in a patient's care.
The objectives of the program are to:
Describe the components of a comprehensive airway assessment. Describe the continuum of airway management. Describe useful pearls of wisdom and techniques to aid in management of difficult airways. Describe when to involve anesthesia in patient's care.
Describe indications, contraindications, mechanism of action, side effects and dosing of applicable medications. Describe administration of sedation infusions and use of paralyzing agents for transport. Describe pharmacologic cocktail involved in RSI.
This program has been approved for 2.0 hour formal CEH for EMS personnel or 0.2 CEU's. Participants must attend the entire program to receive credit.
