Cedar Valley Hospice, Abels & French-Hand Funeral Homes and Grundy County Memorial Hospital are pleased to announce the first educational session in a series of eight being held in Grundy Center. "Are You a Candidate for Knee Replacement Surgery?" will be held Tuesday, March 12 in the Education Room at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital, 201 East J Avenue in Grundy Center. Please enter by door #3 on the West side of the building and greeters will direct you to the room. This event is free and open to the public. Giveaways will be available while supplies last.
To better understand the latest treatment options for knee replacement, Grundy County Memorial Hospital orthopedics will present an educational seminar on, "Are You a Candidate for Knee Replacement Surgery?" Learn about prevention strategies, treatment options and the latest information on replacement surgery. The program will conclude with an open question and answer session.
This is the first session in a series of eight being held the second Tuesday of each month through October from 5:30 6:30 p.m. This educational series "One and Only You!" is being made available to the public because of a need for information on the importance of caregivers taking care of themselves, as well as those they love. Whether you're a mother of young children or caregiver for an ailing spouse, you will benefit from the information being made available in this educational series.

July 9: Pre-funeral Planning Learn about the benefits, options and steps involved in pre-arranging your funeral.
August 13: Helping a friend who is grieving presented by Robyn Ploucher. What to say or do when words seem so inadequate. Learn how you can be supportive to a friend who is grieving.
September 10: LINK palliative care a program designed to help individuals and families facing a life threatening illness navigate the healthcare system. You don't have to do it alone!
October 8: Socialization after the death of a loved one presented by Rhonda Hein. Learn about ways of getting involved in your community as the world continues on, seemingly oblivious to your loss.
