Stanford University's 6-week Better Choices Better Health Class is coming to Grundy Center. The program is offered to all persons, 18 or older who live with a chronic condition, such as arthritis, asthma, chronic fatigue syndrome, diabetes, heart problems, Parkinson's, or Multiple Sclerosis. The program is designed to work with a person's medical plan of care and encourages self-management of fatigue, exercise, diet and pain to help participants take back control of their lives and make daily tasks easier.
The Better Choices Better Health Class will be held March 5 through April 9, 2013 at the Grundy Center Public Library, 708 7th Street, Grundy Center. Weekly workshops will be held each Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon and will provide the knowledge, confidence and skills needed to take a more active part in the management of chronic disease. Preregistration is required. Full course cost includes a textbook, relaxation tape and other program materials. Scholarships are available for persons who express financial need.
