The Rebels played two games last week. It was a strange week of weather as we were out of school three days and only had one practice the whole week! East Marshall came to town on parent's night (2-1-13). This night is especially for the seniors and their parents. It is a chance to thank them for all that they have done to support Rebel Basketball over the years. I have a great group of seniors and truly appreciate their efforts!

From the start of the game it was easy to see that the Mustangs had improved since our first meeting and were going to be a tough out. The Rebels battled for thirty-two minutes and came away with a 55-51 victory. I did not think we were on top of our game, but to the kid's credit they did what they have been doing all year, they played hard and never quit hustling and attacking.

Emily Snider finished with 17 points for the game. Nicole Adair had a nice night from the arc as she hit three 3-pointers and finished with 11. Taylor Flamme scored 7, Amber Berendes 6, Hayley Weber 4, Ellie Stoakes 4, and with 2 each were Britney Keller, Hanna Christopher, and Erin Wentzien.

South Tama

The Trojans have a nice ball club and we knew we would have to play at a high level to beat them. The first half saw both teams called for numerous fouls. I thought this really hurt us, as we were not able to get the pace of the game where we wanted it because of all the stoppages! South Tama led at half by the score of 40-31. They were able to build their lead to 16 points three minutes into the third quarter. The Rebels battled back and got it to a one-point game (61-60) with one minute gone in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately we were not able to maintain the momentum that got us back in the game and the Trojans went home with an 88-74 victory.

Emily Snider scored a season high 26 points. The Rebels finished with a season high 13 made 3's, and Emily had four of them. Taylor Flamme scored 11, Erin Wentzien 9, Amber Berendes 9, Nicole Adair 7, Hayley Weber 6, Ellie Stoakes 4, and Hanna Christopher 2.
