Members of the Grundy County Memorial Hospital Board of Commissioners are taking steps to begin the search for a new CEO, with the appointment of Pam Delagardelle as CEO of Allen Health System. Board of Commissioners chairman Brenda Davis of Reinbeck says the board will use a team approach as it seeks input from the hospital leadership team, the hospital Foundation board, and utilizes the resources of Iowa Health System in its search.
"Pam's leadership over the past ten years has placed the hospital in an extremely favorable position, and the board is committed to finding a leader with the same vision, drive, and commitment to both the hospital and our rural communities that Pam has demonstrated," says Davis. She says while no time frame has been established for the selection of a new CEO, the Board of Commissioners will not be in a big hurry as they work to find the right fit for the organization, which has seen dramatic increases in the number of health services offered, patients served, and patient satisfaction levels under Delagardelle's leadership.
"Part of Pam's legacy to our county hospital is the strong foundation of department managers and leaders she has built. Every employee is an owner of the culture of extraordinary patient care and dedication to quality. That's not going away as we hire a new CEO," emphasizes Davis.
The relationship between the Grundy County hospital and Allen Health System means Delagardelle will now be the CEO of GCMH's parent organization, and Davis says that is definitely a win-win situation for Grundy County. "It's important to recognize that Pam's appointment as Allen's CEO is an endorsement of GCMH and the commitment to excellence that's been demonstrated here," says Davis. "The partnership between Allen Hospital and GCMH means Pam's connection to the Grundy County Memorial Hospital doesn't stop it continues in a new and very beneficial way."
Delagardelle begins her new duties as CEO of Allen Hospital January 1, 2013.
