Mix it up: Food mixes in a jar

December 2, 2012
Reinbeck Courier

Mix It Up: Food Mixes in a Jar program scheduled for December 6, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m.

Homemade gifts are meaningful, practical, economical and most importantly have a sentimental appeal not found in any store display. They can also be a bit intimidating, which is why Nancy Clark, Iowa State University Extension & Outreach Nutrition and Health Program Specialist is eager to share the ins and outs, the does and don'ts and secrets to making great gifts in a jar that friends, family and coworkers will rave about for holidays to come!

These great gifts in a jar will be nutritious and delicious recipes in a jar decorated uniquely for the intended.

If you'd like to reduce the stress of the upcoming holiday season, try making gifts instead of purchasing them and have recipes and materials provided for a make and take workshop, then this is the class for you!

Class will be held at the Grundy Center Community Center. Brochures with more information and registration forms can be obtained by contacting the Grundy County Extension office at 319-824-6979, visiting us at 703 F Avenue, Suite 1, Grundy Center, or by e-mailing Shari at sellbakk@iastate.edu.

Registration forms must be turned in no later than November 30, 2012.

The Grundy County Extension & Outreach office can be reached by calling 319-824-6979, faxing 319-824-6601 or emailing Shari Sell-Baker sellbakk@iastate.edu.
