Would you like to help protect children from food-borne illnesses and better understand responsibilities related to what, when, where and whether a child eats and is physically active? Learn more about infant and child nutrition and how to encourage kids to eat more fruits and vegetables? Manage food allergies, save money on food and earn 2 clock hours credit for child care license renewal?
If you answered yes to any of these questions then you could benefit from attending Grundy County Extension & Outreach's Childcare Provider Training: Color Me Healthy scheduled for December 5, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. 8:30 p.m. at the Grundy Center Community Center.
Iowa State University Extension & Outreach Families Nutrition and Health Program Specialist, Nancy Clark, will teach about the health benefits of fruit and vegetable color groups and provide you with fun activities to increase recognition and acceptance of fruits and vegetables. She will also talk about the distinguishing the health benefits of the various colors of fruits and vegetables, classify unfamiliar fruits and vegetables into color groups and help you set goals for increasing the color variety of fruits and vegetables served and for incorporating curriculum activities.
Class will be held at the Grundy Center Community Center. Brochures with more information and registration forms can be obtained by contacting the Grundy County Extension office at 319-824-6979, visiting us at 703 F Avenue, Suite 1, Grundy Center, or by e-mailing Shari at firstname.lastname@example.org.
