November 16-18 will be bustling with activity as we celebrate the 2012 Holiday Season! Three organizations are hosting community events you won't want to miss: The Grundy Center Chamber of Commerce will present its 24th annual Festival of Trees, "Collector's Christmas," Friday, November 16 through Sunday, November 18, at the Grundy Center Community Center (705 F Avenue).
View Christmas trees while you listen to continuous live music performed by local musicians on Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Refreshments will be served in the Legion Room. There will be a nominal admission charge at the door for adults and students. Children under 5 are admitted free. In addition, a silent auction will be held throughout the event.
A "Light the Night" dinner will be held on Friday, November 16 at 7 p.m. Dine amongst the Christmas trees as you listen to Sandie Stumberg play the piano. Enjoy a gourmet meal prepared by the Grundy Center high School Advanced Culinary Arts Class, under the supervision of Joan Schuller, which is plated and served by members of the Grundy Center Fire Department and Auxiliary. A cash bar will be available. After dinner, sing Christmas songs and carols with Pastor Phil Dicks.
