The Grundy County Community Foundation (GCCF), an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, is announcing a new funding cycle for grants to be awarded in 2013. The application deadline for all 2013 grants will be midnight (CST) on January 15, 2013, with grant awards to be announced in April. Applying for a GCCF grant is required before applying for Black Hawk County Gaming Association grants. Receiving or not receiving funding from GCCF does not disqualify you from applying to BHCGA grants, but it is a requirement to do so.
Community Foundation Grants can be awarded to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations and governmental entities. Grant applications will only be available online this year. Grant applications that are incomplete or that are submitted in hard copy form will not be considered for funding. The applications can be accessed after November 15, 2012, at www.grundyccf.org, through the "grants" menu on the website's home page. Grants can be awarded in seven broad areas of community enhancement. These include: Arts & Culture, Community Affairs & Development, Education, Environment, Health, Historic Preservation, and Human Services.
Questions specific to the grant process can be addressed to Tom Wickersham, Program Director, at the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, at (319) 287-9106. Other questions related to the GCCF can be directed to Mitch Biersner, GCCF Executive Secretary, at (319) 825-3606.
