On Tuesday, October 2nd, the entire junior class was loaded onto a big yellow bus and driven to Marshalltown Community College for their annual college fair. This event was attended by schools throughout the area including Grundy Center, BCLUW, and GMG. When students arrived at the fair, they were given a bag for brochures from each college and let loose to explore any colleges they were interested in. There were colleges present from all over the state of Iowa, and even a few from out of state. There were also military and ROTC options available.
Students were told to visit a minimum of seven colleges while at the fair and to collect materials from each. When the students returned to school, they used these materials to get even more information about their perspective colleges in their basic composition class. This college fair was a great opportunity for students to start thinking about their fast approaching futures.
