The Black Hawk Nighthawks 4-H Club held the first meeting of the new 4-H year on September 9th and the roll call was, "your favorite thing from the fair."
Officers were elected: President-Hannah Martin, Vice President-Ashley Moore, Secretary-Amanda Grunklee, Treasurer-Audrey Leyen, and Reporter-Sadie Brockett. The meeting schedule for the upcoming year was reviewed; there are many fun activities planned. Meetings are usually held on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 5:00 p.m. at the Reinbeck Elementary library. Everyone should have received their fair premium checks by now. Record books will be due October 13th which is also Enrollment Day. The county is also having the Annual 4-H Family Halloween Party at the Barn Stahl Petting Zoo. Malissa will have the Younkers booklets at the next meeting. Some of the projects that the 4-H took to the fair will be on display at the Reinbeck Public Library display case for the month of October.
Hannah Martin did a presentation on how to make easy bookmarks. Malissa Martin did an activity with the members making thank you notes for their parents. The next meeting will be on October 14th at the Reinbeck Elementary School.
