Grundy County Wellness Coalition holds annual free trail walk/run

September 7, 2012
Reinbeck Courier

The 2nd annual GruMorrBeck walk/run will take place on Sunday, September 9th, 2012. The event will start at the Oakleaf Country Club in Reinbeck. Start times offered are 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Participants will park at Oakleaf and be bussed to their choice of starting point. Choose from 1 mile, 2 miles, 3 miles or 4 miles on the Pioneer Trail. The Pioneer Trail runs east and west along Hwy 175 from Grundy Center to Morrison to Reinbeck (GruMorrBeck). Everyone is invited to participate in this free event that is sponsored by the Grundy County Wellness Coalition. The main goals for the event are to expose people to the Pioneer Trail, get individuals and families moving and to connect residents throughout Grundy County. Come together in the pursuit of wellness with other residents on this wonderful resource in Grundy County.

Water stops will be available at each mile marker. Participants are welcome to bring their own refillable water bottle or use the cups provided. Strollers are welcome on the course. The Wellness Coalition asks that you don't bring pets or bikes.

This is the final event in the Grundy County Challenge. Walkers/Runners that participated in 4 or more 5k races (out of the 8 qualifying races) in Grundy County this year can enter themselves into a drawing for multiple prizes. All participants who complete the challenge and fill out a challenge card will receive a commemorative patch!
