Reinbeck Community Development plans first annual Art Festival

September 2, 2012
Reinbeck Courier

REINBECK, Iowa The First Annual Reinbeck Art Festival will feature the work of approximately 21 juried artists in downtown Reinbeck on Saturday, September 22, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The community received a grant in the amount of $2000 from the Grundy County Community Development Foundation and one for $1000 from the Dennis and Holly Kruger Family

Foundation.

For years, locals have noted how many artists live in and around Reinbeck, a northeast Iowa community close to Waterloo and Cedar Falls. As an outgrowth of community development, the art festival promises to feature local talent as well as nationally known artists working in

mediums as varied as jewelry, metalwork, and book arts.

The Festival will also feature musicians Karla Ruth, Mike and Sheryl Campbell, Justin Appel, Kevin Paar and Kirk Eastman. Children's Activities will provide a fun and creative perk for kids. Festival-goers will be able to take advantage of the specials offered by local businesses in the area.

The Reinbeck Community Development Board is proud to encourage appreciation of the arts in the community by providing the Reinbeck Art Festival event, a day to see and buy high quality work, enjoy music, keep the kids busy with children's art activities, and support art in the community in a highly visible way.
