Grundy County Rural Electric Cooperative official notice of annual meeting of members

The 7th Annual Meeting of the members of Grundy County Rural Electric Cooperative will be held at the Grundy Center Community Center in Grundy Center, Iowa, at 7:25 p.m., on Thursday, September 6, 2012, to take action upon the following matters:

1. The reports of officers, directors and committees;

2. The election of two (2) directors of the Cooperative for a term of

three years each:

3. All other business which may legally come before the meeting or

any adjournment or adjournments thereof.

In connection with the election of directors scheduled for this meeting, the following members were nominated for directors by the Committee on Nominations appointed by the Board of Directors of the Cooperative pursuant to the Articles of Incorporation.

There were no nominations by petition.

THESE ARE THE RULES

Only registered members will receive an attendance prize. As only one membership is issued to a person, regardless of the number of farms he or she may operate, they will be eligible for only one attendance gift.

CHANGE OF LOCATION. THE GRUNDY COUNTY REC ANNUAL MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE GRUNDY CENTER COMMUNITY CENTER, 705 F AVENUE, GRUNDY CENTER. One block north of Court House.

EACH VOTING MEMBER ATTENDING THE MEETING WILL RECEIVE A $10.00 BEEF CERTIFICATE. Members will be given their Beef Certificate when they are given the election ballots. NO certificates will be given out after the election of directors. The Beef Certificates are like a check. They can be redeemed at any restaurant, grocery store or meat locker for the purchase of beef.

SHORT BIOGRAPHY OF THE CANDIDATES FOR DIRECTORS

A very important part of the Annual Meeting is the election of directors from their respective districts.

DISTRICT 2: NORBERT BOYLE- and his wife, Lori, have an acreage east of Ackley in German Township of Grundy County. The Boyle's have two children: Jenna, 21 and Kara, 18. Norbert is an Iowa territory manager for Servi-Tech, a crop consultant company based out of Kansas and has always been heavily involved in the agriculture field. He and Lori are members of the First Presbyterian Church of Ackley and Norbert has held many key positions including trustee and Elder. Norbert has been a volunteer fireman for 11 years for the City of Ackley. He is also a member of the Jay Jasper's Racing Team. Gardening, camping, racing and motorcycling are among his favorite things to do in his spare time.

DISTRICT 3: EARL SLINKER-has a corn and soybean farm southwest of Grundy Center. Earl and Jeanette have two children: Jared and Ronnie. Earl is a member of the Farm Bureau and currently is Treasurer of the Grundy County Corn and Soybean Growers Association. The Slinkers are members of the First Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center and enjoy spending free time with their grandchild, Chloe. Earl has been on the REC Board of Directors for 13 years and has held all the officer positions and is currently Treasurer. He has continually updated his knowledge of rural electric cooperatives by completing the curriculum necessary to be designated as a Credentialed Cooperative Director. He has also received the Board Leadership Certificate.

RYAN ROSS-lives on an acreage south of Grundy Center in Washington Township, with his fiance Bobbi Finarty. Ryan and Bobbi have 4 children: Katie, Josy, Libby and Ryder and the whole family spends a lot of time riding horses. He is employed with Grundy Mutual Insurance. He graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1993 and received his Ag Business Degree from Pan Handle State in Oklahoma. Ryan is a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center and has many hobbies including team roping, hunting, fishing and leather working.
