WWII Veterans needed to fill Honor Flight

The Waterloo Honor Flight is looking for WWII Veterans to fill their September 18 Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.

If your father or mother, grandfather or grandmother, aunt or uncle, neighbor, friend, or you are a WWII Veteran and have not participated in an Honor Flight, please complete and submit your application. A fifth Honor Flight will be departing Waterloo, Iowa, on Tuesday, September 18, for our nation's capital.

WWII Veterans are the #1 priority, it's not required that they reside only in the five county area of Black Hawk, Bremer, Grundy, Buchanan and Northern Tama, all applications will be accepted. Submit your initial application which you may pick up at any Waverly, Cedar Falls or Waterloo HyVee or print from If you do not have access to either of these options, please call 319-342-4667 and leave your name and phone number. Please make sure to speak clearly so that your call may be returned. When your call is returned you will be asked for your mailing address so that the application may be mailed to you.

Time is of extreme importance, we encourage you to do so immediately. Please do not hesitate.

Regretfully, they are unable to accept any applications from Korean War Veterans for this flight. Veterans of the Korean War, please do not mail in any applications until an announcement has been made through the media that applications are being accepted.
