Reinbeck Courier

The Gladbrook-Reinbeck Community School is making mail in registration available to parents in order to register their school-age children. Parents received registration information in the mail around July 25th that includes information on all the forms needed. Parents may download the forms from the district web site. After completing the forms, parents can mail the forms and the appropriate payment of school fees back to the business office for processing. There is also the availability of Pay Schools so parents may pay their fees on line. The district is encouraging this type of registration in order to alleviate parents from going to each of their children's attendance centers. Families new to the school district are asked to call the school's business office at 319-345-2712 so registration information can be mailed to them.

Parents taking advantage of this mail-in registration are asked to submit their materials prior to August 6th. Walk-in registration will be held at each campus on August 6th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Families wishing to apply for free and reduced lunches must have the application to the business office at 300 Cedar St., Reinbeck, prior to registering August 6th. Registrations received after August 6th will be assessed a late fee.

On Tuesday, August 14th all G-R buildings will be hosting open house from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Please take this opportunity to stop in and meet your child(ren)'s teacher(s), walk through their schedule, etc. This is a great time for parents and teachers to begin building a positive relationship for the year.

There will be 3rd grade orientation at Reinbeck Elementary on August 13th at 6:00 p.m. There will be 5th grade orientation at Gladbrook on August 14th at 6:00 p.m. Freshman orientation and 9th grade 1:1 Rollout will be held on August 14th at 5:30 p.m. During the Open House on August 14th at 7:30 p.m. the High School will present the 10th-12th Grade 1:1 Rollout.
