Jason Carter has joined Natasha Chughtai and Meteorologist Eileen Loan on the EMMY Awarded 'Today in Iowa' as co-anchor.

A resident of Hudson, Jason has worked for television stations in the southeast as well as in Eastern Iowa.

"I'm excited to be sitting alongside Natasha and Eileen." Said Carter. "Being able to wake up with the rest of Eastern Iowa and help them start their day is something I look forward to."

Jason brings ten plus years of experience to the KWWL Newsroom, having covered hurricane Katrina as it struck the gulf coast and the aftermath of the storm. Carter has been awarded and nominated for numerous EMMY and Associated Press Awards. Before Carter entered the morning news world he led the Investigative Team at his former station in Memphis.

"Jason is an accomplished journalist," said Dan Schillinger, KWWL News Director. "And he has a great personality as well as a real investment in the community."

Carter's wife, Danielle works at John Deere in Waterloo, and the couple lives in Hudson with their three children. He is active in many community organizations within Black Hawk County

In his free time, Carter likes to golf with his three kids. At six years of age, his son Jackson is an accomplished golfer as is his two year old son Knox, who's been golfing for nearly a year. Spending time with his family is Carter's main pastime.
