July 15, 2012
Reinbeck Courier

Two-Cylinder Expo XXII will be held on the National Cattle Congress grounds July 19-21. An event for persons of all ages, there will be hundreds of beautifully restored John Deere Tractors on display, and helpful owners more than willing to tell visitors about them. Although most of the tractors were built in Waterloo, it's not unusual to hear, "I had no idea John Deere made anything like that."

In addition to the tractor exhibits, there will be informational presentations about tractors on Thursday and Friday. A Swap Meet will be held all days with selected vendors with a good track record of customer service and positive response. The Heartland auction will be expanded for 2012 to include a Memorabilia Auction on Friday. Auction starts at 2:00 p.m. featuring 200-250 items, and will be held in the air-conditioned Electric Park Ballroom at the east end of the National Cattle Congress Grounds. The tractor, equipment, and parts auction will be held on Saturday, just west of the front of the McElroy Auditorium. Hours Thursday 10:00 a.m. -6:00 p.m.; Friday 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.; Saturday 8:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m. Admission for adults per day; Children under 12 are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Free parking. Also, John Deere employees and retirees from any facility are admitted free when presenting their employee pass or some positive form of retiree identification.

The Two-Cylinder Club is a worldwide organization of John Deere vintage product enthusiasts, known for its award winning Two-Cylinder Magazine, and for its annual Expos featuring the finest restorations. This year not only marks the organization's 22nd Expo, the Expo returned to the same week that the very first Expo was held in 1987 in Waterloo, but it is also the 175th anniversary of John Deere.
