Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth Bru were honored with a surprise 25th wedding anniversary celebration on July 6 at Salem Church in Lincoln.

Mr. & Mrs. Randy McGrady-Beach celebrate 25 years of marriage.

Karen Petersen & Jerry Adams of St. Paul, Minn. were married May 26 at Living Hickory Church in Urbandale.

Valerie Jenkins and Sandy Foster were married June 8 in Milford, Iowa.

Marilyn K. Brown and LeRoy Klinghammer were married Feb. 16 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Reinbeck.

JoAnn Billerbeck, 66, Reinbeck, died July 7 at Covenant Medical Center.

Esther V. Lovell, 86, Dike, died July 7 at the Western Home in Cedar Falls.

Betty Owings, 78, Eldora, died July 2 at Valley View Nursing Home in Eldora.

Teresa Petersen. daughter of Erv & JoAnn Petersen, graduated from Yale University School of Drama on May 27.

JULY 23, 1992

A former Reinbeck dietary foods plant manager, Robert DePugh, was sentenced in Federal Court at Kansas City, Mo. to two years 6 months in prison for fire arms violation.

Queen Of Heaven Catholic Church in Reinbeck and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Grundy Center will now be served by Father Kissling.

Steve Albers of Lincoln Savings Bank presented a check for $500 to Dave Harms Lincoln Chairman. The money will be used to repair the surface of the basketball court in the Lincoln City Park.

LaVera Ramundt died on July 21 at Parkview Manor in Reinbeck.

Kris Hickins and Doug Vogt, both of Placentia, Calif. were married at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Waterloo on June 13.

Viola Lovell, Parkview resident, received a special 50 year Order of Eastern Star certificate.

Earl Claussen will celebrate his 80th birthday with an open house on July 26.

Lucille Snow will observe her 80th birthday on July 25 with her family.

Mr. & Mrs. Everett Wyatt were treated to a 2 1/2 hr. hot air balloon ride as a birthday gift to Marguerite.

Gene Sorrell, 15, son of Mr. & Mrs. Gary Gutknecht, Reinbeck, landed a 5 lb. cat fish caught in Black Hawk creek north of Reinbeck below the dam.

Funeral services for Elise K. Meyer, 40, were held July 26 at French-Hand Funeral Home.

Prayer services for Herman Beier, 91, former Reinbeck resident, were held at French-Hand Funeral Home on July 23.

Mr. & Mrs. Duane Thoms, Waterloo, are parents of a daughter born July 21.

Reinbeck Ramettes softball team are sectional champs. They finished the season with a record of 23-11.

JULY 27, 1972

Dr. A. B. Ludeking at 402 Broad St., sold their home to Mr. & Mrs. Randy Evenson for $18,700.

Board of Directors of Grundy Co. REC will hold an open house on July 28 in observance of R.F. Cramer's retirement who is retiring after 37 years.

Roland Ohrt, 65, died July 20 in Belmond, Iowa.

JULY, 1962

Bonacker's Super Valu owned by Raymond Bonacker, was burglarized Saturday night of about $1,440 and 15 cartons of cigarettes.

Robert Rickert, 25, lost one of his toes on his right foot and the ends of two other toes when he got too close to a power lawn mower.

Linda Junker, 17, Grundy Center, and Vicki Mullenix, 16, Morrison, were chosen 1962 conservation queens.

Mr. & Mrs. Tom Farris are parents of a daughter born July 19.

Mr. & Mrs. Roy Sells are parents of a daughter born July 23.

Mr. & Mrs. David Clubine are parents of a son born July 23.

Robert Nash, 21, is home from Korea after 23 months. He was a former employee of the Reinbeck Courier.

John Wrage, 43, suffered a heart attack at Al Hoffman's last week-end.

Mr. & Mrs. Paul Webrand are parents of a son born July 17.

Mr. & Mrs. Melvin Jans are parents are parents of a daughter born July 17.

Margie B. Anderson and Marvin L. Multhoff were married July 11.

Mr. & Mrs. LeRoy Watson will observe their 25th wedding anniversary on Aug. 1.

JULY, 1942

Loretta Saltou and Burdete Jans were married on July 17.

Wm. Tabat, owner of the .5-$1.00 store in Reinbeck, sold it to Dave Lewis of Eldora and will take possession on Aug. 1. Lewis will change to a Ben Franklin Store.
