Dear Editor;

There was a letter to the Editor stating that Pat Grassley had not voted for aid for his own friends and neighbors after the F5 Parkersburg tornado. The letter listed SF 478 as the bill that Rep. Grassley has voted against. When looking for SF 478 I found this. SF 478 A bill for an act relating to livestock by providing for their feeding and care when the livestock are deemed to be neglected. This was April 2011. So I looked for the bill intending aid after the tornado and found SF 44, Expediting Local-Option Tax Approval in Disaster Areas was passed in 2009 and yes, Pat Grassley voted against it, as well as Annette Sweeney and every other Republican. I have to wonder why not one Republican voted in favor of this bill and if not one voted in favor I have to believe they had their constituents best interests at heart.

Another vote I take issue with is SF 534, Abortion Restrictions, June 8, 2011 passed 54 to 37 with Pat Grassley's vote but not with the help of Annette Sweeney. She didn't vote. I appreciate Rep. Grassley's vote to ban texting while driving. This was another vote Annette Sweeney missed. Animal rights aren't a priority for everyone when it comes to voting but they are for me and Pat Grassley gets my vote here too. Grassley hasn't missed one vote, a perfect voting record tells me this man takes his job seriously. That's why you vote for Pat.
