Dear Editor and Park Board members;

I am writing as a concerned citizen of Reinbeck, a parent and a grandparent. On the Friday before Memorial Day, there was a tree trimming going on at the city park. Thinking that the holiday was only a few days away, that the debris would be cleaned up, after the holiday and until the 4th of June, 11 days later was the large sticks and limbs removed. I watched as kids played in the brush and families stopped, but didn't stay as it looked like a war zone, or tornado had hit. My understanding after contacting City Hall last week and then again this week that the Park Board was responsible for the war zone. I contacted a board member and the problem was brushed off as a problem with the part time Park Board employee. What can he do to clean up your mess with no equipment to clean it up with? Why do you expect someone to clean up a mess of that huge magnitude with no equipment? I seriously think you owe the part time employee an apology and just thank your lucky stars that no one was injured on your mess. Hopefully in the future you will get your ducks in a row before embarking on a large project as this again.
