Taking a bite out of cancer

May 27, 2012
Reinbeck Courier

Business owners Glenda Billerbeck and Sharon Wambold are inviting everyone to join them Sunday, June 3 for the Third Annual Sundae Sunday as they team up to "take a bite out of cancer." You can feast from 11-2 at the Fountain on Main. The event will feature a pasta bar and free ice cream sundaes. Proceeds from the pasta bar will go to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in honor of Glenda's mom JoAnn and donations for the ice cream sundaes will go to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society honoring Sharon's daughter Sarah.

Glenda has been a longtime supporter of American Cancer Society programs, participating in the Daffodil Days annually and leading a team yearly at the Relay for Life. Sharon will be heading to Colorado in June for the Lake to Lake triathlon and Washington DC in September for the Nation's Triathlon. Since 2009 she has participated in 8 events for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society and raised over $30,000.00. Both individuals are grateful for the support of the community for this event.

Mark your calendars, plan to join the gals for lunch and dessert, Sunday June 3 11-2 at the Fountain on Main. If you cannot attend and would like to support these two worthy causes, you may drop your donations off at the Fountain.
