Snow competes in triathlons

Kim Snow a 1992 graduate of Gladbrook Reinbeck now living St. Petersburg, Fla. has been and is competing in triathlons, relay teams including a 92 mile relay from Chattanooga, Tenn. to Nashville, Tenn., and a 98 mile relay from Miami, Fla. to Key West, Fla.

On Sunday May 20, 2012, Kim competed in half Ironman at Haines City, Fla., in which Lance Armstrong was a participant.

The half Ironman consists of 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride and a 13.1 mile run. Kim competed the event in 6 hours and 14 minutes.

Kin has also qualified for the 2012 USA Triathlon Olympic Distance National Championship after finishing in the top 33 percent in your age group at the St. Anthony's Triathlon.

The 2012 USA Triathlon Olympic Distance National Championship will be held in Burlington, Vt., on August 18.

The USA Triathlon Olympic Distance National Championship is the nation's premier Olympic-distance event with the top age group athletes from all 50 states forming one of the most prestigious fields in the sport. Athletes from each age group will qualify to represent Team USA at the 2013 International Triathlon Union World Championships in London, England.

Kim is the daughter of Dean and Penny Snow.
