Carol Bown has been selected Volunteer of the Year at Parkview Manor.

Mr. & Mrs. Lyle Wrage will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner and a trip planned for late summer. They were married May 6 in Waterloo.

Tonya Shinn is Miss ISU Rodeo of 2002.

Marie Funk, 87, Reinbeck, died April 24 at Covenant Medical Center.

Hattie Hoeg, Traer, will celebrate her 80th birthday on May 17 with an open house.

Lulu Schelling, 84, rural Dike, formerly of Reinbeck, died May 9 at Allen Hospital. Funeral services were held on May 12.

Services for Wilford Johnson, 65, Reinbeck, were held May 13 at Amity Church.

Services for Merlin Sternhagen, 71, Grundy Center, were held May 9.

MAY 20, 1982

Reinbeck Ramettes girls track team won their 4th straight conference championship.

Craig Dufel, Cedar Falls, plowed into the west side of Herb Eifflers house at the corner of Hwy 175 and Pioneer Road. He attempted to turn north onto Pioneer when he lost control, sideswiped a pole and a tree and plowed into the house.
