Sharps disposal program

April 8, 2012
Reinbeck Courier

Grundy County Public Health now offers a convenient, free way to dispose of your needles, syringes and lancets that were used for personal medical use in the home.

Simply discard used sharps in a red sharps container or in an empty plastic liquid laundry detergent jug with the lid taped shut. When your container is full, call Grundy County Public Health at 319-824-6312 to set up a time to drop off your entire container to the Grundy County Public Health office. Your container will not be returned.

Grundy County Public Health is pleased to provide this program FREE of charge through a partnership with the Grundy Center Convenient Center and Metro Waste Authority.

This program is only for sharps used in the home, and not for medical treatment facilities.

For more information contact Chris Bare at Grundy County Public Health 319-824-6312.
