Allen Bohnstegal, Jason Staker and Andy Hoffman have been selected to attend the annual session of American Legion Boys State in Des Moines from June 9-14 at Camp Dodge in Des Moines.

Reinbeck Community Homes honored for 30 years of affordable housing.

Megan Thompson & Brandon Bearbower are planning a June 29 wedding at the United Methodist Church in Reinbeck.

Helen Shelton will celebrate her 90th birthday on April 5.

Gail Wildman will celebrate her 90th birthday on April 13 with a card shower.

Russell Kray, 92, Garwin, died March 26 at the Keystone Nursing Care Center.

Homer Long, Grundy Center, published a book "You Can't Win Backin Up".

His book centers around a thoroughbred horse race track and tells a down to earth story about his family.

The United States achievement Academy announced that Hayley Larsen, Chelsea Larsen, Chelsea Reinhard and Jackie Reinhard have been named U.S. National Award winners. This award is a prestigious honor very few can ever hope to attain.

Mr. & Mrs. Richard Cherney of Battle Creek will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on April 15.

Marie Herink, 70, Gladbrook, died April 8 with services being held April 11 at the United Methodist Church in Gladbrook.

Claude Groesbeck, 83, Conrad, died April 10 and services were held April 13.

Annie McKenna was the 1982 recipient of Reinbeck's Woman Club Scholarship.

Tena Creswell & Ron Peters were married April 3 at the United Methodist Church in Reinbeck.

Mr. & Mrs. Douglas Havlik, Ankeny, are parents of a son born April 8.

Mr. & Mrs. Curt Plaehn are parents of a son born April 8.

Mr. & Mrs. Richard Bloom, former Reinbeck residents, are parents of a daughter born April 13.

Rev. & Mrs. Kenneth Krueger. Cedar Falls, are parents of a daughter born March 19.

Hiram Dutton, 81, Reinbeck, died April 15 at Schoitz Hospital.

Wm. J. Pieres, 85, Reinbeck, died April 15 at his home.

Vernon Eckhoff, 42, Reinbeck, died April 14 as results of injuries received in a construction machinery accident on a farm northeast of Morrison.

APRIL 20, 1972

Roger Harrison, 32, was treated for injuries around his eyes after an argument which turned into a slugging match outside the TV Tap in Waterloo.

Mrs. Lutjen Beenken, Jr. Morrison, had surgery to remove a needle that had been embedded in her foot for 25 years.

Mary Brown, 84, died April 15 at Parkview Manor Nursing Home.

Mr, & Mrs. Don Folkerts are parents of a son born April 18.

Mr. & Mrs. Richard Dudolski, Hudson, are parents of a daughter born April 15.

APRIL, 1962

A large barn on the James Snow farm, 5 miles north of Traer was completely destroyed by fire.

Dorothy Hoppe and Richard Ford of Mt. Pleasant are announcing their engagement.

Merger of the Morrison School with Reinbeck was carried in the special election in both districts.

Marine 2nd Lt. George Morrison, son of Mr. & Mrs. Frank Fackel received his commission as a Lieutenant.

Mr. & Mrs. James Gill are parents of a daughter born April 11.

Mr. & Mrs. Frank Karkosh will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on April 20.
