Order of Eastern Star honored Dorothy Mulder for 75 years of participation in Eastern Star. Dorothy is the first in the State of Iowa to receive this 75 years of honor.

Grundy Center complex takes a step closer to completion.

Lance VanHauen who owns VanHauen Auto & Truck in Reinbeck, is the 2001 United Drag Racing Association Driver of the Year. He has been racing for more than 26 years.

Jolene Brauer is employee of the month at Parkview Manor where she has been employed over 27 years.

Curtis Storjohann and Janet Kelly will be married on April 13 at the Methodist Church.

Maggie Garaventa and Justin Boege plan wedding for May 11 at the First Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center.

Mr. & Mrs. Jesse Smith of Overland Park, Kan. are parents of a son born Feb. 9.

Charles "Keith" Bailey, 85, Reinbeck, formerly of Grundy Center, died Feb. 15 at Parkview Manor Nursing Home.

Ruth Carstensen, 79, Gladbrook, died Feb. 12 at Marshalltown Medical Center.

Sibyl Black, 82, Dike, died Feb. 13 at Allen Hospital.

George Glasener, 80, Hudson, died Feb. 16 at Parkview Manor.

Rod Drummer is the new deputy in Tama Co. effective Jan. 28.

Ryan Morris, Jordan Schick & Aaron Johannsen go to State wrestling meet.

G-R FFA have been awarded a $1,000 Community Development Grant.

Hollie Beem has joined Grundy Co. Hospital as Senior Life Fitness Instructor/Coordinator. She is also the Activity Director at Parkview Manor.


FEB. 27, 1992

Don Hatch and Matt Wyatt have qualified for State Wrestling Tournament.

Mr. & Mrs. Roy Jacobsen of Voorhies returned home from a 3 week vacation to Ariz. & Calif.

Services for James Wacha, 98, Tama were held on Feb. 20.

Services for Dorothy Jensen, 93, Reinbeck, were held on Feb. 25 at the UCC Church.

Herbert Schroeder, 76, Sumner, died Feb. 15 at his home.


MARCH 4, 1982

Scott Beenken, Reinbeck wrestler, earned the State Super Heavyweight crown by pinning Scott McKinney of Lenox.

Funeral services for Merle Schuck, 63, Parkersburg, were held on Feb. 25.

Funeral services for Harm Hook, 77, Holland were held on March 2 at Colfax Center Church.

Mr. & Mrs. Eric Swaney are parents of a son born March 1.


MARCH 2. 1972

Todd M. Reed, 9 day old, son of Mr. & Mrs. John Reed of Morrison, died at University Hospital.

Alfred Luethje, 76, Gladbrook, died Feb. 20 at his home.

Mr. & Mrs. Don Harms are parents of a daughter born Jan. 23.

Curt Ballard, Reinbeck Ram wrestler at 167 lbs., won 4th place at State Wrestling Tournament in Des Moines.

Stanley Stevens, 63, Grundy Center, died at his home on Feb. 6.

Grace Owen, Reinbeck, has accepted appointment to the State Extension Advisory Committee.
