Trunck's Country Foods has a program called Save-N-Share. This program supports non-profit organizations in the area. When a customer shops at the store they ask a clerk for their receipt to go to a non-profit organization of their choice. Trunck's Country Foods then donates 1% of the receipt total to it. These receipts are totaled for a year. This program has been supported for over 16 years.
The organizations involved in this program are: Amity Church, 4th of July Reinbeck Community Club, St. John's Lutheran Church Dorcas Society, Eastern Star, G-R Athletic Boosters, G-R Dollars for Scholars, G-R Fine Arts Boosters, G-R High School Science Dept., IMPACT, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, United Methodist Church, New Life Assembly of God, Presbyterian Church, Reinbeck Day Care, Reinbeck Preschool, St. Gabriel's Holy Family Parish and United Church of Christ.
There is a cap of the number of organizations, to ensure the best benefit to each participant and rotate them as new requests come in to keep the program vibrant. This year Juvenile Diabetes Foundation will be replaced with the Grundy Country Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Owners of Trunck’s Country Foods Sue and Darren Trunck present Rev. Terry Plocher with Save- N - Share donation.
Plocher says, “We are grateful to have community leaders as generous as Truncks. Our Save-N-Share will be used for outreach and education through our LIGHT program and missions through the women's circles. I know each of the participating organizations will be grateful for shares also.'
