Grundy Co. has new precinct boundaries following redistricting.

New pool construction committee plans April 6 kick-off.

Ralph Dirks, 91, Reinbeck, died Jan. 31 at Covenant Medical Center.

Clarence Ennenga, 81, Grundy Center, died Feb. 4 at Grundy Co. Hospital.


FEB . 13, 1992

Mr. & Mrs. Bill Ragsdale will observe their 40th wedding anniversary on Feb. 22 with an open house.

Maureen Edwards & Andrew Berner announce engagement and upcoming wedding on May 23 in Iowa City.

Grundy Co. Sheriff, Rick Penning, announces he will seek re-election to the office of Sheriff.


FEB. 18, 1982

Roger Dudden, Reinbeck, and Frank Wyatt, Hudson, were recently honored by the Iowa Pork Producers as Iowa Master Pork Producers.

Pioneer Hi-Bred announced this week that the company has reached an agreement with Ackley Foods of Ackley to purchase the old Reinbeck Canning Co.

Mr. & Mrs. Phil Ohrt of Reinbeck, are parents of a son born Feb. 11.

Connie Harris, Reinbeck, and Craig Barnes, Grundy Center, were married Feb. 6 at the UCC Church in Reinbeck.


FEB. 17, 1972

Dennis R. Beenken, 17 year son of Mr. & Mrs. Herman Beenken of Morrison, was killed on Feb. 12 in an auto in which he was riding hit a Chicago-Northwestern freight train. The vehicle was driven by Mike Porro, 17, son of Mr. & Mrs. Pete Porro.

Teryl Robertson and Brian J. Nelson were married Feb. 12 in Rushford, Minn.

Mr. & Mrs. Howard Corwin returned home in Morrison after spending several weeks at Craig Rehab. Mr. Corwin was receiving therapy treatments for a broken neck he received in a farm accident.


FEB . 1962

Jan Koch returned to school for half days. This is the first time since the auto accident which took the lives of her parents and brother.

Arthur Stiefels, 83, was killed instantly when hit by a car in Long Beach, Calif. on Feb. 9.

Arthur Braasch of Des Moines, formerly of Reinbeck, died Feb. 11.

Mr. & Mrs. James Kubik of Traer celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 14.

Mr. & Mrs. Dave Neil, Sr. to observe their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 22.

Corbin Hemphill, 68, brother of Mrs. I. W. Hepperle, died in Des Moines on Feb. 10.

Neil Freitag has been commissioned as Second Liet in the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. & Mrs. John Brubaker are parents of a daughter born Feb. 8.

Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth Ball, Waterloo, are parents of a son born Feb. 6.


FEB. 1952

Voorhies Grain basketball team sponsored by Edward & Lucille Karkosh won the Iowa AAU Tourney crown in Marshalltown.

Charles Mooty was re-elected President of Grundy Co. Mut. Ins. Association.

Manne Bakker, 41, to sit out $500 fine in the county jail for six months.

Loyd Plaehn sold house #4 in Plaehn's addition to Mr. & Mrs. Sieg Petersen for $5,750.

Mr. & Mrs. Stanley O'Kones of Wellsburg are parents of a daughter born Feb. 13.

Mr. & Mrs. Harry Pecenka, east of Reinbeck, are parents of a daughter born Feb. 10.


FEB. 1942

Mr. & Mrs. Warren Nissen, Waterloo, are parents of a son born Feb. 5.

Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Petersen are parents of a son born Feb. 6.

Mr & Mrs. Simon Siekfen are parents of a son.

Dorothy Bartusch of Lincoln, and Glen Howard, Buckingham were married on Feb. 7.
