More than forty booths featuring local resources for wellness will be on display Saturday, as the Grundy County Wellness Coalition hosts the annual Wellness Fair at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital. The first 100 people to come through the hospital's South Entrance #1 will receive a free gift and free healthy breakfast samples will be available in the hospital's East J Cafe. The hospital is located 1 block south of Highway 175 E in Grundy Center.
Exhibits will be open at 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., located throughout the hospital. Demonstrations of various health screenings will be available, along with the opportunity for low cost blood screenings, free blood pressure checks and hearing screenings.
"It's typical for people to begin the New Year with good intentions for improving their health," remarks Wellness Committee member and Grundy Family YMCA director Andrew Peters. "We've assembled a variety of resources to make it easy for Grundy County residents to receive the help they need meeting their goals, including goals for weight loss, exercise and general safety."
Participants will be able to sign up for the Live Healthy Iowa 100 Day Challenge, learn about emergency preparedness, radon safety, dental health and much more.
Resources available at the Wellness Fair include information on healthy food choices from the Grundy County Memorial Hospital chef and Reinbeck's Fountain on Main.
