G-R School district receives Monsanto Grant of $14,000 to help build a new concession stand at the softball complex in Gladbrook.

Lydia Robertson and Ali Al -Rabi were married Oct. 6 at St. John's Lutheran Church.

Minnie M. Blohm, 85, Grundy Center, died Dec. 18 at Allen Hospital.

Air Force Airman Gayle Dinsdale has graduated from basic training at Lackland AF Base in San Antonio, Texas.


JAN. 2, 1992

Charlotte Field, 60, Cedar Falls, died at University Hospital of Iowa from injuries sustained when she was struck by a car driven by Donald Dahms, 67, of Reinbeck.

Services for Eva Johnson, 97, Hudson, were held Jan 2 at the Hudson Communty Church.

Services for Irwin Rabenberg. 78, Grundy Center were held on Dec. 30 at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center.

Services for Anne Cech of Grundy Center, were held on Dec. 27 at the United Methodist Church in Grundy Center.

Services for Hazel Whannel, 78, Traer, were held on Dec. 27 at the Traer United Methodist Church.

Services for Anna Raske, 83, Grundy Center, were held Dec. 27 in Grundy Center.

Memorial services for Keith Smith, 78, Lennox, Iowa a former Reinbeck man, were held Jan. 4.


JAN. 7, 1982

Don Albert, son of Mr. & Mrs. Merle Albert, has been named assistant manager of a new Pioneer seed production plant being constructed near Hedrick, Iowa.

Lloyd Davis installed as Worshipful Master of Reinbeck Coin Lodge No. 394.

Glenda Watson and Michael DeGroote of Parkersburg were married on Nov. 1, 1981.

Reinbeck's new city administration met in their first official session on Monday evening.

Josef Selc, 90, Reinbeck, died Jan. 1, 1982 at Harmony House in Waterloo.


JAN. 1972

John Conrad will hold a complete closing-out sale at his farm on Jan. 8.

Becky S. Zangerle, 16, was killed in a one car accident on Jan. 2 west of Dike. Two young Waterloo men Allen Clausman, 17, driver of the car and Richard Loomer, 19 are listed in serious condition at a Waterloo hospital. This is the first fatality for 1972 in Grundy County.

Ralph Frampton died Jan. 1 at a Marshalltown hospital after suffering a heart attack.

Sandra E. Fagerlind and Jerry Rickert were united in marriage on Dec. 18 at Grace Lutheran Church in Waterloo.

Mr. & Mrs. Egbert Eckhoff of Reinbeck will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on Jan. 9 with an open house at the Reinbeck Memorial Bldg.

Mr. & Mrs. Delvin Harms will observe their 25th wedding anniversary with an open house.

Mr. & Mrs. Jim Knaack are parents of a son born Jan. 3.

Mr. & Mrs. Eldon Hoppenworth of Grundy Center have purchased the controlling interest in the Parkersburg State Bank from Oscar Bailey who founded the bank nearly 40 years ago.

Mrs. Walt Musser, 78, died Jan. 3 in Grand Forks, N.D.

Claus Ehlers, 79, longtime Reinbeck merchant, died Jan. 3 in Woodstock, Ill.

Rainbow Assembly 100 will install LeAnne Hoeppner as Worthy Advisor on Jan. 7.

Mr. & Mrs. Paul Ehrig are parents of a daughter born Dec. 28.

Mr. & Mrs. Sherrill Roberts are parents of a daughter born Dec. 31.


JAN. 1952

Graves Style Shop will move to the Cogswell Bldg.

Joe W. Tomlinson, 78, Traer, died Dec. 28.

Mrs. Roy Young, 36, Buckingham, died in Iowa City on Dec. 29.

Harmmean Adelmund, Morrison and Harold W. Smith were married Dec. 31.


JAN. 1942

Esther Fogt and Charles McCarthy were married Dec. 27.

Eleanor Peters and Clarence Linder were married Dec. 20.

Theodore Buhmann, 75, died in a Waterloo Hospital on Dec. 26.

Harold Dudolski lost 4 teeth in an auto accident when his car crashed into the bridge east of Reinbeck.

Mr. & Mrs. Russell Roberts & family moved to a newly built house on the John C. Strohbehn farm north of town.

Juanita P. McBride of Dike and Vernon Jans, Reinbeck, were married on Dec. 26.
