December 10, 2011
Janet Slessor - Librarian , Reinbeck Courier

Children attending story time on November 29 enjoyed stories about Christmas (and bears) told by Sue Trunck. We will have one more story time in December before taking a break over Christmas. Mrs. Santa will be here at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 13th!

In keeping with the Christmas theme, take a look at our library display case the next time you stop in: A portion of Ann Rae Billerbeck's Santa Claus collection will be in it during the month of December.

We had a good turn out on December 2 for the open house for Donna Brandt, who is now retired after working at the library. Many people stopped in to thank her for her years of service and wish her a happy retirement.

New books at the library this week include:

Fiction: Born to Die by Lisa Jackson, I am Half Sick of Shadows by Alan Bradley, Explosive Eighteen by Janet Evanovich, Micro by Michael Crichton, The Sisters by Nancy Jensen, Longing by Karen Kingsbury and The Baker's Wife by Erin Healy.

Non-fiction: Betty and Friends by Betty White.

Children's: Library Lion by Michelle Knudsen, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever by Jeff Kinney and War Horse by Michael Morpurgo.
