Mildred Schmidt, 72, Reinbeck, died Dec. 20 at Allen Hospital. Services were held on Dec. 23 at French-Hand Funeral Home.
Pauline Wrage, 95, Gladbook, died Dec. 21 at the Long-term Care Unit in the Grundy Co. Hospital. Services were held on Dec. 24 at Salem Church in Lincoln.
Private family graveside services for Bob R. Burkhart, 77, of Iowa City will be held at a later date in Guttenberg. Mr. Burkhart died Dec. 17 in Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
Mrs. John (Leola) Beenken, 75, of Grundy Center passed away Dec. 22 at the Grundy Hospital. Services were held on Dec. 26 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Grundy Center.
Gretchen Fulster, 92, Gladbrook, died Dec. 19 in a nursing home in Marshalltown. Services were held Dec. 21 at Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook.
Albert Otto, 82, Gladbrook, died Dec. 19 in Marshalltown and services were held on Dec. 23 at Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook.
Harold A. Anderson, 94, Cedar Falls, passed away Dec. 18 at Sartori Hospital. Services were held at Fredsville Lutheran Church, Rural Cedar Falls.
Harvey G. Eiten, 68, rural Wellsburg, died at home on Dec. 18. Services were held on Dec. 21 at the First Christian Reformed Church, rural Wellsburg.

Clara DeVries of Grundy Center, won $700 in the weekly bankroll drawing at Ernie's Super Valu.
A 2 vehicle head-on collision on Dec. 26 resulted in the death of William F. Harrison, 24, of Conrad. Marcia, his wife, is listed in critical condition as well as their one-year-old son, William. An unborn child died Monday as a result of the accident. Roger McIntyre, 39, of Morrison, driver of the other car is hospitalized at Schoitz Hospital in serious condition. His wife, Joan, 32, is at the Grundy Co. Hospital with fractures and lacerations.
Patricia Petersen and Bruce Bailey exchanged marriage vows on Dec. 18 at the United Church of Christ.
George Bonacker, 71, died at a hospital in Algona, Iowa.
Mr. & Mrs. Ed Hickson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 2 with a family dinner at Bishop's in Waterloo.

Residents awakened Christmas morning Dec. 25 to the whitest Christmas on record. Fourteen inches of snow had fallen since Friday, Dec. 22. On Sunday a 45-mile-per-hour wind piled the snow as high as 6 and 7 feet.
The Spokeman Press in Grundy Center is to become a division of Webb Publishing Co. in St. Paul, Minn.
Considerable damage was done to the auto of Don Brown, 25, when it collided with a steer owned by Louis Heideman. The steer was not injured.
Nick Maas, living on the Henry Frier farm, will have a closing-out sale on Jan. 5.
Mrs. Wayne Poisal, 52, died at her home on Dec. 20 of cancer.
Ruby Jensen and Ronald Koch were married on Dec. 16.

Ernest Sell, 58, died suddenly at his home on Dec. 26.
Sam Mooty's auto was struck by a train engine of the Northwestern railroad 6 miles east of Reinbeck. Etta Mooty, a passenger was injured.
Mrs. Herman Dufel, rural Hudson, was injured in an auto-semi accident at the intersection of 57 and 58.
Four inches of snow fell and on Friday temps dropped to 12 below zero.
Temps thru Monday stayed at zero and on Christmas Eve more snow fell.
William Wiese, 77, took his own life at his home in Lincoln on Dec. 23.
Mr. & Mrs. Raymond Sell, near Dinsdale, are parents of a daughter born on Dec. 13.
Mr. & Mrs. Harold Robertson are parents of a daughter born Dec. 26.

Myrtle Agy who has been the night operator at the telephone office left that job and Agnes Lauer has taken her place.
