The Reinbeck United Methodist Church will be holding its second annual Veterans Day dinner on November 10th.
Once again they have invited families of active duty service people. This year, however, they have also invited servicemen returned from the middle east and world war II veterans from the Reinbeck area. "This started as a way to support families of deployed soldiers, but now we have the opportunity to invite the brave men and women themselves to share a meal with us," says pastor Terry Plocher. The meal is prepared by the nurture group and served by some area veterans who attend the church. There were nearly 50 people in attendance last year and they expect about the same number of guests this year. Pastor Plocher says, "What a great opportunity to give thanks in a special way this month. Thanks for their service and thanks for their safety."
