Mary Schoborg, Marshalltown, has been named administrator of Parkview Manor.

Katrina Vanderpool and Lance Herink exchanged marriage vows on Aug. 11 in Iowa Falls.

Megan Butler and Timothy Jones were married on May 12 at the Methodist Church in Grundy Center.

Harriet Linder will celebrate her 80th birthday on Nov. 13 with a card shower.

Mr. & Mrs. John Svoboda will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on Nov. 10 with an open house and dance at the Traer Memorial Bldg.

Mr. & Mrs. Dale Larsen are planning a family celebration for their 50th wedding anniversary.

Donald Stull, 86, Eldora, died Nov. 2 at the Eldora Nursing Rehab Center.

Harold J. Everts, 74, Grundy Center, died Oct. 5 at the Grundy Hospital.

DEC. 5, 1991

Michele Mason of Traer, and David R. Isenhower of Dysart, were united in marriage on Oct. 19 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Traer.

Jeff Storjohann of Gladbrook and Sherry Kunkel of Marshalltown were united in marriage on Oct. 12 at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Marshalltown.

Irene Rose Campbell, 83, formerly of Reinbeck, died Nov. 26 in Boulder Colo. Services were held in Boulder.

Private family services for Marian Gehler Libby, 82, were held in Oakland, Calif.

Richard T. "Dick" Froning, 56, Dike, died Nov. 27 at Covenant Medical Center. Services held at the United Methodist Church in Dike.

John D. Craig, 69, Dike, died Dec. 1 at Covenant Medical Center. Services were held in Dike on Dec . 4 at the Fredsville Lutheran Church in rural Cedar Falls.

Mr. & Mrs. Gary DeVries are parents of a son born Nov. 27.


DEC. 10, 1981

Santa Claus is coming to town on Sat. Dec. 12 sponsored by Reinbeck's American Legion with treats for all the little folks.

At the last meeting of the Reinbeck Interchurch Community, the Reinbeck Food Bank was unanimously adopted and established. The purpose of this is to establish a fund which churches and individuals may contribute to in order to meet emergency and temporary food needs of persons or families in the Reinbeck area.

The Grundy Co. Compensation Board refused to change a decision recommending "no salary increases" next year for elected county officials.

Mr. & Mrs. Robert Moore have purchased the Hilda Buck home at 706 West St.

Connie Jans and Allen Hansen, both of Reinbeck, were united in marriage on Nov. 21.

Cheryl Craig, Reinbeck, and Barry Ewoldt of Traer, were united in marriage on Nov. 21 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Reinbeck.

Mr. & Mrs. James Schneider of rural Reinbeck, are parents of a daughter born Dec. 3.

Helen Schneider, 67, Reinbeck, died Dec. 1 at her home of a heart attack.

This week's winners at the Saturday holiday drawings were Don Mohr-$25; Freida Stewart-$25 and Tom Tedore-$50.

Stephan's Dodge in Reinbeck is holding a Zenith grand opening on Dec. 10.

Kathy A. Richter and John Waltman exchanged wedding vows on Nov. 20 at the First Methodist Church in Reinbeck.

Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Schmidt are parents of a son born Nov. 26.

Mr. & Mrs. Craig Bern are parents of a daughter born Dec. 2.

Jim Johnson of Cedar Falls, a graduate of Hawkeye Tech, has joined the staff at Stephan's Dodge as an electronics radio/TV repairman.

Martin Juhl, 74, died at his home of cancer on Dec. 3.

Reuben Schildroth, 77, died suddenly on Dec. 5.

Fire on the Russell Roberts farm 7 miles northwest of Reinbeck, destroyed the entire hay crop, small damage to a combine and picker and caused heavy damage to the new metal building.

The cornerstone of the new Reinbeck Elementary building will be laid on Dec. 14.

Katie Wieben, 94, Everly, died Nov. 28.

Mr. & Mrs Herman Beenken, Jr. of Morrison are parents of a son born Dec. 2.

Mr. & Mrs. Robert Wumkes are parents of a daughter born Dec. 3rd.

Mr. & Mrs. Robert Anderson of Lawton, Okla. are parents of a daughter born Dec. 2.

Mr. & Mrs. Eddie Botsford of Plymouth, Ind. are parents of a daughter born Dec. 2.

Elsie Landt, 63, Gladbrook, died Nov. 29.


DEC . 1951

Mrs. Fred Andorf, 40, was killed in a car accident on Dec. 4.

Adolph DeGrote, 59, died of cancer on Nov. 30.

George Linder has resigned as Reinbeck's water superintendent and street commissioner and the council again hired Emil Willer for the job at a salary of $285 per month.

Petersen Produce to give away two bikes as their Christmas treat to the youngsters. George Thacker of the Reinbeck Theater will give a free show ticket to all who register.

Cow gives birth to second set of twins within a year at the Orville Lauterbach farm.

Marilyn Mitchell became the bride of John W. Christy on Nov. 30.

Mrs. John W. Dew, 71, died Nov. 30.

Yvonne Mitchell of Morrison and Paul Keith of Traer, were married on Nov. 29.

Lester Marts, owner of Coast to Coast and Pontiac Motors became the leaseholder of the Diamond DX service station.

Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Petersen are parents of a daughter born Dec. 3.

Wilson & Co. of Reinbeck installs automatic scalding equipment.

Hoeg & Ames complete drilling of a new 340 ft. well on the farm occupied by Leonard Jacobs south of Amity.


DEC. 1931

Bart Dickey, 80, pioneer resident of Lincoln Twp. died Nov. 24.

Gilbert Boll, 19, son of Mr. & Mr. William Boll died of diabetes on Nov. 30.

John Graves of Grundy Center, won a $30,000 judgement for his son John Graves death in an auto accident.

Mr. & Ms. Louie Wulf will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 4.

Lauterbach Motor of Reinbeck is announcing the arrival of the new Chevrolet-six priced at $475.

A son was born to Mrs. Roy Hamilton of Dinsdale on Thanksgiving Day.
