The Grundy County Community Foundation has changed the timeline for awarding grants in 2012 to accommodate applicants that would potentially need the grant funds by late spring. This earlier grant cycle will allow for organizations to take a look at their next year's budget before applying for grant funds.
Application forms and other information for 2012 grants to be awarded by the Grundy County Community Foundation are now available at city halls and libraries throughout Grundy County. Applications are also available online at www.grundycountyia.com. The deadline for submitting grant applications will be January 15, 2012. Over $85,000.00 in grants will be awarded in 2012. In 2010, the Grundy County Community Foundation gave almost $126,000 in grants to 40 applicants.
Any Grundy County tax-exempt, non-profit entity which is classified by IRS as a 501(c)3 organization or is sponsored by a 501(c)3 organization or is a division of local government and provides programs or services for citizens of Grundy County may apply for a grant. Grants can be awarded in the areas of arts and culture, community affairs and development, education, environmental education and protection, health, historic preservation and human services.
The Foundation's Committee places a high priority on providing support to innovative programs and services that will have the potential for significant impact in improving the lives of local residents. The Grundy County Community Foundation is an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa.
